When we were younger, we used to talk about our dreams under the moon by the riverside. we talked all night and sang our hearts out, we dreamed a lot, we get to talk about our future careers, we get to dream of pursuing the things we’re passionate of doing and we even shared the same travel goals. we were gazing at the stars, looking beyond the universe, dreamy and pure at heart. We were able to set those dreams with extra life in our eyes along with our laughter and giggles. Love was innocence, genuine, peace, happiness and beautiful. but now, being at this stage, the world taught us on how to be tough, to be bold and brave because it is what we needed.
It’s no longer about the light-heart talks, no longer about the dreamy dreams, or about how we perfectly saw the world when we were younger. Reality taught us that things can drift apart over time; we no longer talk to each other, we get to experience the ugly phases alone, we started to set aside the things we used to love, our priorities are now different, we hustle to combat with these screeching voices in our heads, we’re trying to make ends meet because the world is becoming bigger—so do the expectations, responsibilities and roles we need to play.
But I pray that wherever you are at this moment, you still get to relive your childhood dreams when you’re looking at and remember how you even started to dream. Even if the world was not and is not going to be gentle, you still choose to be gentle on yourself and find a safe place for all of the things you wanted to keep.
Please know to keep your dreams and memories with you. May your heart’s desires find their way to you—and you get to live a happy and a good life, sincerely.
